Enzo Ventures has today revealed more details around its second fund, Enzo Ventures II. It’s a €20 million fund focused on investing on pre-seed rounds with tickets between €250,000 and €600,000. It invests on B2B technology, AI and software companies, and has broadened its thesis to invest also on software companies with bridge to the real world. The company also revealed that it already invested on three companies with this new fund. One of them, a London based company, is Cori Clinical, and there are two others to-be announced based on Zurich and Madrid.
Founded last year (2022) as a Spanish venture capital firm, its founders Edgar Vicente and Ivan Fernández focused on companies lead by entrepreneurs with a Southern Europe’s heart, no matter if they create startups in London, Madrid, Zurich, Milan, New York, San Francisco… “We didn’t want to build a fund around where companies were incorporated. We wanted to build one around where exceptional founders came from.”, Vicente said.
The fund invests before the product is polished, before the metrics make sense, and puts its chips on the relevance of the problem they are solving, the scale of the entrepreneurs, and the size of the opportunity they are building. Besides capital, Enzo Ventures tries to provide constant support to its portfolio and help them with its network of entrepreneurs, operators and investment professionals.
Its first fund invested on 28 companies located on nine different countries. Three examples: Orbio has raised more than $28 million after Enzo Ventures’ investment, Murphy raised $15 million in follow up rounds and Complaion has raised close to €17 million.
